Card Aid Shop Volunteers Needed
Card Aid is a scheme run by the Charities Advisory Trust. Each year the Trust sets up Christmas card shops all over London to raise funds for over 300 charities. Unlike many commercial companies, where as little as 2% of the card price goes to charity, 100% of the profits made on Card Aid sales go to charitable causes.
The Eastcheap Card Aid shop near Monument will be opening from the 24th of October until Christmas and is seeking volunteers to help with its day to day running. Typical tasks include serving customers, arranging and pricing stock, operating the till, and helping to publicise this wonderful cause. They have a very friendly team at Card Aid and hope this opportunity will not only be rewarding but a lot of fun too!
Generally Card Aid asks volunteers to make a regular commitment (e.g. weekly or fortnightly) of a minimum 3 hour shift. However there is a degree of flexibility so even if you are interested but cannot make a regular commitment do still get in touch. Note that this is a weekday opportunity as the shop's opening hours are Monday to Friday, 11a m til 4.30 pm. To volunteer or simply find out more please contact Florence Ackland (Card Aid Shop Manager) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
